       The Associate professor, Dr. Writam Banerjee, visited NMT program Nov. 21, 2014. Dr. Writam Banerjee now is working with the Institute of Microelectronics (IME) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) as a member of the Project of Foreign Young Excellent Scholar by Chinese government.

                                   


        Firstly, Dr. Writam Banerjee met with the manager of the NMT program Prof
essor Ding Kejian and the course coordinator Professor He Zhiqun. They welcomed his coming and hope there is an opportunity to cooperate in terms of research and teaching.

 

Then, Dr. Writam Banerjee was invited to give a talk for the first-year students of NMT Program, which was titled as “What is nanoscience and technology?” He started with the question, “What is nano?” and guided the students to understand nano as a kind of concept. After a series explanations, he came to his major area—flash memory, and introduced it in respects of operation, structure, design and fabrication and evaluation. In the end, he briefly talked about the limitation of the current technology and next generation of the flash memory. The report was intriguing and attracted the attention of audience. The students returned his report with great applause.
