On April 22th, 2014, Prof. Liao Yongqi of department of physics of University of Waterloo visited our department of physics, and carried on the demonstration class presentations for physics teachers, communicating with teachers mainly about the years of teaching experience and methods.
Prof. Liao Yongqi took Mechanics of grade one, classical mechanics and Quantum Mechanics of grade three and Electromagnetism of grade four as examples to introduce the experience in the process of teaching. He personal highly praise "summary - this - in summary" teaching ideas, which helps students clear focuses and the train of thought; besides, in order to help students focus attention to the maximum extent, he thinks that teachers should balance the use of multimedia and blackboard to write instruction. In addition, he encouraged teachers to refer to different kinds of teaching references to expect the best from others and develop unique courseware according to the lecture so as to help students make revision easier after class. The most important of all, he thinks that loving for teaching is the most essential experience of an excellent teacher. Only in this way teachers can continue to improve the teaching method, introduce new and improve the quality of teaching. After demonstration class, he interacted with the teachers present and answers one by one about the practical problems in the process of teaching and which won the consistent high praise.
