On the morning of Nov 6th, 2013, appointment ceremony of Professor Sun ren of University of California, Los Angeles employed as Part-time Professor by Beijing Jiaotong University was held smoothly. President Ning bin gave the appointment contract and, on behalf of the University, expressed gratitude and appreciation of Professor Sun’s contribution to facilitating the cooperation on academic and research between UCLA and the University.
Professor Sun ren is now Vice President of UCLA Medical School and International Cooperation Assistant and had long devoted himself to the Study of viral pathogenesis, and had cut-edge accomplishments in the international community in areas such as molecular mechanisms involved in the replication of the virus and virus treatment related biomarkers. For many years, Professor Sun ren worked to push the cooperation in building an international top university cooperation platform between UCLA and Beijing Jiaotong University and its Chinese industry security research center. Professor Sun ren remarked that since the two universities had much in common in their respective development in Biomedical disciplines, the two universities should strengthen cooperation in aspects like scientific research and education in the future.
